Fireplace Slabbing For Solid Fuel Specialists

This is aimed at sold fuel stoves and open fires, which often require expansion joints in the material being used ( e.g. granite etc )  it is important to do this to ensure the chosen product does not crack under the intense heat. The procedure includes filling the back with a heat proof  vermiculite and a heat proof cement. For open solid fuel fires this also includes the fitting of a metal heat plate in the fireplace hearth and a metal trim in the back panel.
